Class Descriptions:
Jordan’s contemporary class offers a technical and physically charged progressive warm up composed of various techniques learnt through his career. The main focus is Cunningham, with elements taken from release & floor work when moving through space. The class is both fast paced and filled with musicality to challenge both body and mind, this enables the dancers to focus on their own personal development when approaching the classes.
Improvisation is something Jordan also teaches, these sessions lean more towards the focus of imagery and sensation as a stimulus, bringing a deeper understanding of why and for what purpose you are moving. This therefore helps the dancers explore different pathways and flow systems to generate a broader vocabulary within movement and dynamic interplay.
Jordan has been the Contemporary Repertoire Lecturer for the pre professional year at The Royal Ballet Upper School in 2023 and was appointed Resident Choreographer for BCDCY from 2015 to 2020. He has taught extensively world wide in both masterclasses and workshops.
